Alpha Phi Eta Xi
Letter from our president
On behalf of the Eta Xi Chapter of Alpha Phi, welcome to our official website!
My name is Rebeca Murillo and I am the Chapter President of the Eta Xi chapter at UNC Wilmington!
The Alpha Phi sisterhood is home to over 200,000 collegiate women making up over 174 chapters Internationally. Through our ideals of sisterhood, character, generosity and innovation our sisters are all connected. Here at UNCW our sisterhood is extremely unique. Each sister brilliant and beautiful in their own way, push each other to become the very best version of themselves. In Alpha Phi, we believe you are stronger together.
Alpha Phi was founded in 1872 at Syracuse University. Since then, thousands of women have joined the sisterhood in the effort to better themselves and their sisters. Our founders created Alpha Phi as a way to push themselves beyond their own expectations, and better one another. Each member since then has strived to do just that.
When I joined Alpha Phi my freshman year I was immediately surrounded by confident and empowering women. I was shy and reserved, not knowing many people. I decided to apply for Director of Academics, which tested my persistence and assertiveness. Sophomore year, I ran for VP of Member Education and Programming, which gave me the opportunity to guide and teach our new members. Spending time with these women was the highlight of my week and made me appreciate this organization and the women in it. I am grateful for my sisters who make me want to change the world and stand up for what is right everyday.
I hope you enjoy our website and get a sneak peek into sisterhood we all hold so dear to our hearts. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!
Thank you for visiting,
Rebeca Murillo
